Mr. Taniguchi was born in Kyoto, where his family has been a potter for many years. The area has been know for a traditional pottery called Kiyomizu yaki, where is famous for the old temple called Kiyomizu dera (Kiyomizu temple).
Kiyomizu yaki is characterized by hand painted traditional design and they often produce tea ceremony related cups and incense holders etc.
