Wooden cups from Takahashikougei, Hokkaido

Takahashikougei in Hokkaido has been specializing in producing various types of wooden cups and plates.

Good things about using wooden cups and plates are they are light weight, they cannot easily be damaged, they are resistant to high temperature etc.

These are Cara series cups. Cara in Japanesed sounds like Kara, which means an outer shell often of an egg. They are, therefore, characterized by the round shape like an egg shell.

The series come in various sizes and shapes.
