Akita handcrafted wooden pails (秋田杉桶樽) Mr. Yasutaka Shimizu (清水康孝)

Akita prefecture is located in northern part of Japan and these wooden pails are made in a small town called Noshiro in Akita.

Wooden pails are normally tightened with woven bamboo strings to hold the wood pieces together, but those pails made by Mr. Shimizu do not have these bamboo strings, enabling him to create aesthetic products.
